We have some ladies who are “waiting” for their husbands to appear. These ladies are near and dear to my heart. I admire their faithfulness to stand on the promises that God has given.
Satan tries to discourage them and tells them they are not worthy, good enough, beautiful enough, or have what it takes to be married. He tells them they have waited so long, don’t they know God doesn’t have anyone for them? Marriage isn’t for everybody, only the select few!
These are just some of the things that a few of my single friends have been sharing with me. The battle is always in the mind. The mind will deceive and betray us in a heartbeat if we don’t have the Word to hold each thought captive. With all that being said, this post is dedicated to our ladies in the group that are single, though we can all stand on these words as they are our Bread of Life!
The following are a few scriptures dealing with “waiting on the Lord.” I know waiting is not easy, but I pray these Scriptures will encourage and strengthen you during this time.
“My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.” Psalm 62:5
“Our soul waits upon the Lord; He is our help and our shield.” Psalm 33:20
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie; though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.” Habakkuk 2:3
“I wait for the Lord, my soul doth wait, and in His word do I hope.” Psalm 130:5
“Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; for He is faithful that promised.” Hebrews 10:23
Now, in the midst of your waiting, praise God for what you are waiting for!
“Because thy loving kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee. Thus will I bless thee while I live; I will lift up my hands in they name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips.” Psalms 63:3-5
“I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be save from mine enemies.” 2 Samuel 22:4
“I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalms 34:1
“But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should shew forth the praise of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.” I Peter 2:9
“And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God; and the prisoners heard them.” Acts 16:25
“For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised.” Psalms 96:4a
Heavenly Father, I pray for strength for these ladies as they learn to wait on you. Encourage them, Lord, to hold fast to your promises and remind them to praise Your name in their hearts and homes, on the streets and in the byways for all that you have promised them. May they turn to You continually for hope in the desires of their hearts, lifting up their hands to You. For we know, strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord, for our God reigns forever! In Jesus’ Name we praise You!! Amen.
Praying in the waiting, Cherie
