Do you believe?
I’m sure you do.
We all believe in something, right?
Specifically, do you believe God?
Kim, how can you ask these women that? How can you ask yourself that? Of course, they do. You do.
But do you believe God is for you? For your husband? For your marriage?
Moses believed God.
You see, during his encounter with God at the Burning Bush, God told Moses to go free his people in Egypt. What is interesting to me is God told Moses that Pharaoh would “not let you go, no not even by a mighty hand.” Exodus 3:19
[Huh? He told Moses to go and do this but really there would be no point because Pharaoh would not listen. For real????]
Then He, I AM, tells Moses,
So I will stretch out My hand and strike Egypt with all My wonders which I will do in its midst, and after that he will let you go. Exodus 3:20
Moses believed God.
Yes, he was scared; yes, he was unsure of his abilities and his qualifications for being used in this way by God, but He never doubted God.
In fact, the writer of Hebrews in 11:27 says of Moses,
By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured as seeing Him who is invisible.
He had faith. He endured. He saw Him who is invisible. He believed God.
This week you may need to cling to the unchanging God we serve. It is His nature to be trustworthy.
You can believe God is for you. For your marriage.
Believe God to lead you into joy in your marriage. It’s what He wants for you. For your spouse. For the both of you.
Does it require work on your part? Yes, you must believe. Believe in the I AM and what He says. He will show His mighty hand to you.
So how about it? Ready to believe the truth?
The world wants you to believe your marriage isn’t important, that you deserve more than having to “work” at marriage and a host of other lies. Satan is the father of lies. Don’t believe him!
Truth has a name — Jesus!
God is trustworthy. It is part of His character. He is the I Am who can be trusted.
Won’t you trust your marriage to Him?
