Today's Imperfect Minute

True Love Tuesday

Love always perseveres. I Corinthians 13:7

I was struck by my dictionary’s definition of persevere: to continue in a course of action even in the face of difficulty or with little or no prospect of success.
I don’t think I like that last part…little or no prospect of success.
It doesn’t sound very hopeful. And I love a happy ending.
Can you hear me whining now?
I don’t wanna persevere…
I want love to be easy. You know…hearts, flowers, sunset walks on the beach.
Comfortable.
Love isn’t always that way. Jesus certainly didn’t have it easy when it came to truly loving the human race.
He had to persevere in the face of death. With faith that what God had promised him would come to pass. He had to make that hard choice:
So, will I make the hard choices? Will I believe that with my Father God everything is possible?
Absolutely. Because, for me, failure is not an option.
I won’t persevere perfectly. But when I stumble, I will turn to the Lord and ask for His strength.
You know…when I am weak, He is strong.
I will trust, hope, and always persevere. Because that is what God has called me to do.
What about you?
With love and prayers,
Rebecca
