I think there are two most important things I can do for my husband. One love on him. I don't think it got much of it growing up, and I need to give him more. The second is keep things easy. He isnt' the best planner, so the more I can do to help out so that he has a lunch for work, clean clothes, etc, the easier life is for him.
I think the most important thing he can do for me is to be emotionally attached to me. be open and have a conversation. The most important thing I can do for him is to respect him and then to build him up.
My husband says that one of the most important things a wife can do for a husband is keep from nagging about things he needs to do. Boy, has that been hard! I find that keeping quiet about all the things I think he should do means that I do a lot more praying and turning all that "stuff" over to the Lord. The result? More peace, fewer arguments, a closer relationship with the Lord. It doesn't hurt that I have a couple of close friends I turn to when I need agreement in prayer for things that need his attention that are really important or time-sensitive. Knowing I've got support helps me stick to the "no nagging" policy! ; )
