How many things have you allowed in your life that fight against your marriages?
How many well-meaning friends have you “shared” personal information with who don’t seek God on behalf of you or your marriage?
Take a look around you…
Then take a deep look into yourself…..
What is God asking you to lay down for your marriage?
Your career, friends, pride, “me” time….
Each time you hold on to whatever these areas are for you, you give yourself away to Satan’s plans and allow darkness to have more and more control in you and over time, your marriage.
This conforms you more to the likeness of Satan and less to the image of God.
It’s time to clean house!
Not just in these things, but also within our hearts.
Our husbands should never have to compete with what we have going on in our lives.
Did you hear me? They should never have to compete with something we just won’t let go of.
They should be first on our minds after God. They should be our best friend…not other things or our friends.
Whether we realize this or not, the things we hold on to betray us and become an enemy between us and our spouses.
Remember Jesus and Judas’ last moments together? Judas kissed Jesus on the cheek as his last betrayal again Him..
What “kisses” are you allowing to betray you?
“Open rebuke is better Than love carefully concealed. Faithful are the wounds of a friend, But the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.”
Let’s pray: Daddy, we come to You baring our hearts before Your throne. Remove from us any friend or thing that vies with our marriage. We lay before You every kiss of the enemy and ask that you replace _____, _____, _____, and ______ with You, Your word, Your light within our hearts. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen!
