14 And it will be said: “Build up, build up, prepare the road!
Remove the obstacles out of the way of my people.”
15 For this is what the high and lofty One says—
he who lives forever, whose name is holy:
“I live in a high and holy place,
but also with him who is contrite and lowly in spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly
and to revive the heart of the contrite.
16 I will not accuse forever,
nor will I always be angry,
for then the spirit of man would grow faint before me—
the breath of man that I have created.
17 I was enraged by his sinful greed;
I punished him, and hid my face in anger,
yet he kept on in his willful ways.
18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him;
I will guide him and restore comfort to him,
19 creating praise on the lips of the mourners in Israel.
Peace, peace, to those far and near,”
says the LORD. “And I will heal them.”
Isaiah 57: 14-19
Do you have obstacles in your way that you need the Lord to remove?
Do you feel lowly? {Do you feel like you are low in importance or just ordinary. Lowly also means humble.}
Are you aware of your own sin and shortcomings in your life and situations?
Are you contrite in heart? {In other words, do you feel remorse for things you have done?}
Here’s the good news: God lives with those who are contrite and humble.
Do a heart check: ask the Lord if He considers you contrite and humble.
The amazingly wonderful thing is that as soon as you humble yourself and show repentance for your actions, there is forgiveness.
Ask the Lord to forgive you and to bring healing to your heart, as He promises in these verses.
He will bring comfort and guidance.
These verses provide much comfort if we will allow them to. God knows that we will fail, that our motivations will be wrong, but He wants to revive us. He desires to refresh us, energize us, and even resuscitate us when we feel close to “death!”
He is a loving Father who longs to bring us back to life! If you have any doubt about that, look at what Jesus has done for us!
So today, choose to access the reviving power of the Lord, no matter how you FEEL about yourself or your circumstances because God is bigger than your feelings, your sin, and your circumstances.
I can tell you from personal experience that you will be glad…you will experience peace in your heart and praise to God will be on your lips!
Praying and believing!
