Though we live in a contemporary {music} world, I grew up on hymns. One of my favorites is “Revive Us Again” by William P. Macka. Remember these lyrics? I remember singing this at my granddad’s church. He was the pastor and my grandmother lead worship with an accordion.
They lyrics remind me that I need revival each day of my life. They reminded me I cannot walk this journey without staying focused each day on Jesus and the reason He was slain for me.
- We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus Who died,
And is now gone above.- Refrain:
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.
- Refrain:
- We praise Thee, O God!
For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Savior,
And scattered our night. - All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who hath borne all our sins,
And hath cleansed every stain. - All glory and praise
To the God of all grace,
Who hast brought us, and sought us,
And guided our ways. - Revive us again;
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above.
This is our last week in our Reviving Our Marriages series. I pray that Revival is stirring in the secret places of your heart as you are reminded today of the price that was paid for you.
May your soul be rekindled with fire from above,
Cherie
