His Heart In Our HandsThe heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life. (Proverbs 31:11-12)

A lot of women feel inferior to the Proverbs 31 woman, but I love the passage about her. It’s exciting to see Solomon write about women he probably saw in his lifetime. It’s exciting that he would talk of such a woman or women.

What’s even more exciting is, we can be that woman. It’s in the scriptures for a reason, ladies. God didn’t put it there for us to skip over, roll our eyes at, or groan about how perfect she is. It’s a pattern we can follow with the help of the Holy Spirit.

I love these two verses. The commentary in my Bible said this is the only other verse it talks about man trusting in someone other than God. Pretty amazing right? We get the privilege of our husbands trusting in us. Ladies, we’re his safe place, his refuge on earth. We will never be perfect, but we can be that safe place. Our homes and our hearts should welcome him each day he comes in from work. He should be able to share his inner most thoughts and feelings with us and feel like he can trust us. Don’t visualize June Cleaver. Visualize you, empowered by the Holy Spirit to be that safe place.

It says she will do him good all the days of his life!

That’s a privilege too! We get to do good towards the man we made a covenant with all the days of our lives. In this day in time, that’s rare. So many women do evil towards their husbands. They disrespect them, shame them, and certainly don’t give them the trust they need. It’s not easy, but if it weren’t attainable God wouldn’t have put it in our Bibles. The Holy Spirit can give us the strength to do good, even when our men aren’t doing good towards us. It’s easy to do good when he’s doing good back to us isn’t it? Call on your Father for help. Ask the Holy Spirit to strengthen you!

May we never forget our call as wives is so important. We set the tone and we can make or break a lot in our marriages. Yes, that’s a lot on us, but we can do it with God. Our husbands can trust in us and we can do him good. Let’s be what God desires for us to be as wives.

Let’s take a moment to pray……………

Lord, thank You for the examples You put before us in the Bible. Thank You for strength to do and be what You desire from us. Help us to truly seek to be that safe place for our husbands. May our husbands be able to fully trust us and open up to us. Help us to do them good all the days of our lives. We desire to be the woman you have for us to be. Empower us and lead us, Father. In Jesus name, Amen.
