Have you been tempted to stop trying to have the marriage that is your heart’s desire? Have you tried more times than you can count to move closer spiritually and emotionally (maybe even physically) to your husband, only to find yourself with a result far below what you were looking for?
Remember that failure is temporary! Each time you are obedient to the Lord and you don’t see what you’re expecting, keep this in mind: you’re one step closer to VICTORY that is lasting!!
Don’t be paralyzed by the past. Don’t stop risking your heart because it might be rejected or misunderstood. God is our Daddy and He has already said that we win! Every step of the journey is precious and valuable, building characteristics in us that will be useful in the opportunities that lie ahead.
Hold on to your faith! Hebrews 11:1 says it best: “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.”
No matter the situation in your marriage today, God hears your prayers, knows your heart, and is always faithful!

I signed divorce papers last Friday. Because of my own haste a few months ago in filing for divorce, when it came right down to the end I couldn't stop it…it would have went through without my signature and if I hadn't been agreeable, probably would have cost me and my son much more than we could afford to lose.
And yet, despite my failings, I have peace. God continued to tell me to let him go…but has also promised if I am faithful there will be restoration. I pray for restoration here on earth…but I pray more for my husbands salvation. And if we can never live here as husband and wife, one day we can be brother & sister in Christ and worship together in Heaven.
I haven't given up…I am standing for my marraige – even in divorce – I have to until I feel God releasing me. But yes, mistakes…they are temporary. Our sin is as far as the east is from the west. We will have consequences – for me it was divorce – but that doesn't mean God can't make those consequences into something good. He promises to work ALL things together for good for those who LOVE him. And how do we love him? John 15:12, "My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you."
My husband and I may no longer be married legally, but I will continue loving him as Jesus does as long as I am alive.
Thanks for sharing, Katie. I know that this has to be a challenging time in your life as you walk through this. I am encouraged by your faith and your courage. God is more than able to take our failures and turn them into something that glorifies Him and changes us to be more like Jesus! I am excited to see how He does this in your life in the coming weeks and months.
Love and prayers,
Rebecca

Hi my name is Karen , from http://glassofsweettea.blogspot.com/
and I teach a womans bible study class at my church called,
Secrets Transforming your life and Marriage, by Garry Smally and Kerry Clarensau.. Your posting on Failure is Temporary, sounds a lot like our class.. it teaches how we are suppose to "realistic" expectations on our husbands and not God Size expectations, and if we take our care and concerns to God (who we are suppose to come to and rely on ) then God will give us the desires of our heart,, but when it comes down to the bottom line. When I wake up in the morning, I pray to be the best wife, mom, sister and christian woman that i can be, and start fresh every day…

I appreciate what you're going here Cherie. I'm not even sure how I ran across your blog. Is your audience primarily Christian? I am a Christian, and maybe that's why I ran across it. One thing I don't agree with is that you said "God hears your prayers." I don't agree with it because there are times that God doesn't hear our prayers.
"But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you, So that He will not hear." -Isaiah 59:2
There's also:
"One who turns away his ear from hearing the law, Even his prayer is an abomination." -Proverbs 28:9
"Now we know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does His will, He hears him." -John 9:31
So I'm guessing that I must just not be understanding the content of what you wrote, because I'm sure that you're not purposely trying to deceive people and tickle ears. Scripture warns so gravely against doing that.
Let me know if I'm wrong.

I am so glad that I found your blog!! (Thanks to Honoring the King Ministries.) Loving your blog so far but really love this post. I am trying so hard and constantly praying for God to help me be the wive He wants me to be and my husband needs. It is really hard when your hubby has gone off the path and I am staying on it and trying to raise my daughter to know God and trust in Him with all her problems.
Ok, sorry just rambling.. Just know that this post really touched me and glad to find some other blogs out there to help strengthen my faith!
Praying for you to Katie. Sorry you have to go through this but at least God is there with you.
