Choosing Joy
Choices, everyday we have so many to make! Choices lie before us like forks in the road, taking our lives in one direction or another. Most choices we make, we really don’t give much thought to, and others we agonize over, hoping and praying we make the right one. If you really think about it, where you are right now at this moment is based off a series of choices you made, big or small, right or wrong. The status of your life at this moment is merely based off a culmination of the choices you made!
“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:11 AMP
So many people today walk around unhappy and dissatisfied with their lives. They blame their past circumstances, past relationships, and well they seem to just be happy to sit and stew in the puddle of misery that is their lives. What I find truly sad, is that the enemy has so easily ensnared us as believers with the lies that we are worthless, that we deserve what we got, that we are to far gone and broken, that we would be better off alone, peaceless and relationshipless. He has made the lie so believable that we make the choice to stay miserable! Ya’ll Joy is a choice.. Most days not a simple or easy choice and definitely not something we can do on our own strength, but that is why Jesus came and died on the cross and rose on the third day! He came so we can have life to the fullest, yet we are so quick to believe the strategic lies the enemy tells us.. That we are weak and not worth anything, that we are failing as mothers and wives and then we let our feelings manipulate our choices and when our choices lead us out of the will of God we get angry with Him because we suffer the consequences!
“Then he said to them, “Go your way. Eat the fat and drink sweet wine and send portions to anyone who has nothing ready, for this day is holy to our Lord. And do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Nehemiah 8:10 ESV
Today, it is time to choose joy! It is time to pull ourselves up by our bootstraps, put on the full armor of God that is rightfully ours by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and fight. The battle is upon us whether we want it to be or not, but we do have a choice on whether we will lie down and die or stand up and fight! You are a Christ follower you have the power of the Holy Spirit living inside of you, a power that makes you strong not weak, a power that makes you a formidable opponent to the enemies schemes! Stop listening to the lies of the enemy, you are priceless, you are not too far gone for all can find redemption if it is sought out, God loves each and everyone of us, but he gave us free will, so today listen to the Holy Spirit and choose to walk and your inheritance, daughter of the king of kings!

“Children are a gift from the LORD; babies are a reward. Children who are born to a young man are like arrows in the hand of a warrior. Happy is the man who has his bag full of arrows. They will not be defeated when they fight their enemies at the city gate.” -Psalms 127:3-5 NCV
