When I was reading the Bible today, this scripture was highlighted to me.
So, I looked up the meaning of discretion. It means, “the quality of behaving or speaking in such a way as to avoid causing offense or revealing private information.”
As wives, we are often our husband’s primary (maybe only) confidant. Maybe you’ve said something shared with you in confidence before you realized it was past your lips. Or maybe you’ve shared a funny story that makes your husband look less than wonderful in public.
We have the potential to be the greatest blessing or the cause of the most pain in our husband’s life.
It’s our choice. Discrete or indiscrete. Good or harm.
If you’ve been indiscrete in your words or actions, let me encourage you to repent to the Lord and apologize to your husband. Your humility will be a blessing to your husband’s heart!
Love,
Rebecca
