The Main Thing
Above all else, we need to remain focused on the main thing, which is found in Matthew 22:37-38, which says,
Whether life is going smoothly or there are difficulties, as disciples of Jesus, it is crucial that we keep this in mind! Jesus says that we should also keep our neighbor in mind in the two verses following those:
I think it’s obvious that my husband is my neighbor! I should love God with everything I am and love my husband as I love myself. If I’ve got those right, then everything else I do should fall into place.
Simple, but not easy. Profound. Beyond what we can do in our own strength. But the good news is that He can strengthen us for these all-important tasks. He longs for our success in these matters. Just ask.
