“The Lord God has given Me The tongue of the learned, That I should know how to speak A word in season to him who is weary.  He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear To hear as the learned.” Isaiah 50:4

Don’t let this scripture overwhelm you. As we read God’s Word, the Holy Spirit is faithful to expound on the meaning to us.

I have learned so much in my short life as Christian.

God gave to Christ the tongue of the learned, to speak a word in season for the comfort of those that are weary and heavily laden under the burden of sin. Just as He taught Jesus, He is teaching us now.

Let’s look at it from this perspective. God is teaching us to give a word is season to our husbands. Not to break them down but to build them up!

As wives we are faced with these two choices.

We know the pain we have caused our husbands by vomiting our sinful words at them. It’s now time to STOP!

Choose to speak to them with Grace just as Jesus tells us daily…………………..

“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Jesus comforts us when we are weary and our burdens are heavy. I want to encourage you this morning to check your heart.

Are you a place that your husband finds comfort when the weight of your family is on his shoulders?

Do you choose to build him up when he is weary?

Can I challenge you to look past your personal perspective of your husband and see him through God’s perspective?

If you are reading your Bible, the Holy Spirit is giving you the tongue of the learned and teaching you How to speak an encouraging word in season!!

We have one word at our Beaufort SC local Imperfect Wives group. It is “Lettitgoooooo”

Let go of the bitterness you still carry……..

Let go of the un-forgiveness you harbor in your heart against your husband……………

Hold Fast to God’s word and promises for your marriage!

You are learning and God is teaching. You can be the vessel and mouth piece God uses to build your husbands faith, encouragement, and self esteem!! All areas needed for a healthy mind and spirit!

And when you fall ~>  But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”  2 Corinthians 12:9

Praying for our marriages,

Cherie
