A Warning to Christian Women everywhere!
Every Christian wife and woman needs to hear and take heed! We are continually pushed by the world to follow after its ways and walk in its unholiness. Things are happening all around us. At the same time, the blood of the Christ is asking us to stand on the Biblical principles we are given in the Bible. The cross reminds us that this world is not our home.
“Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; they walk in His ways. You have commanded us to keep Your precepts diligently. Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments. I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments. I will keep Your statutes; oh, do not forsake me utterly!” Psalms 119: 1-8
Have you looked around lately? The sin of this world is so wicked. It preaches a sermon that is aimed to tempt the Christian into running after it’s unholy riches. It sings a song that is pleasing to the ear and death to the soul. If we are not careful, we will find ourselves compromising our beliefs and our marriages.
God has commanded us in vs 4 to Keep His precepts diligently. If we do, we will not be ashamed as we continually meditate on His commands. Lets remind ourselves what the Commandments are: Exodus 20
ONE: You shall take no other gods before me.
TWO: ‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image–any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.’
THREE: ‘You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.‘
FOUR: ‘Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.‘
FIVE: ‘Honor your father and your mother.‘
SIX: ‘You shall not murder.‘
SEVEN: ‘You shall not commit adultery.‘
EIGHT: ‘You shall not steal.‘
NINE: ‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.‘
TEN: ‘You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.‘
I always find reading the 10 Commandments to be convicting.
Is the Holy Spirit speaking to you?
Are you compromising in some areas now?
Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
Things are getting by us each day. Little things that we think don’t really matter. But they do. These “little” compromises in time turn into big ones, until one day we find ourselves sharing the same message as the world!
Wives, I want to encourage you to put the 10 Commandments on a wall in your home. A place you and your family can see them daily. Write them on your hearts so the Holy Spirit can continue to renew your mind. Then we will not be ashamed, when we look into all of God’s commandments.
The things of this world may be shiny, but shine loses its luster in time. However, those who do not heed this warning and align their will with God, will loose their way and become numbered in the many who are falling away from the church!
“Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,” – 1 Timothy 4:1 {ESV}
Please listen to this warning! I implore you not to let go of God! Don’t be numbered in the fallen. Instead, consider 1 Peter 1:7, “that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.” You have a choice! Deny the world, pick up your cross and follow Jesus!
Lord, let our hearts sing no other name but Jesus!

Cherie ♥
Wow Cherie, is not only powerful, but convicting as well! You are so on point about how we let the little things slip in and before we know we are ensnared in sin! Oh that TV show or movie are only entertainment, or not realizing reading romance novels can cause you to put unrealistic expectations on your husband! We need to guard our hearts ladies!! I love the idea of posting the 10 commandments where you and your family can see them, as a daily reminder! We need to stop being so easily tempted by this world and put our focus back on God!!
As I was reading the 10 Commandments again my parents came to mind and other areas! Choosing things that Glorify God keep us in check with the Holy Spirit!! Once we are caught in the web it is so hard to get out! Prayer and Fasting are needed at this point to break the stronghold satan has on us! Ugh!! If only we would listen to God and obey His word!!
Wonderful! I’m so glad you are encouraging everyone to hang the 10 Commandments on a wall in their homes. Thanks to Home Interiors we have had a beautifully framed 10 Commandments on our wall for years. It reminds our family the commandments are given to bringing beauty and joy to our lives as we live in relationship with God and each other in a fallen world. We can have a transformed mind, carry our cross and not be ashamed as you stated. I also have a little shelf under the frame with a set of keys. They remind us walking in obedience to God’s commands and instructions Is such an important key to walking in God’s Kingdom and the Lord opening doors in every part of our lives. I love Psalms 1, Blessed is the man…. But his delight is in the law of the Lord and in his law he meditates (ponders by talking to himself) day and night. He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that brings forth it’s fruit in it’s season whose leaf shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper… For the Lord knows the way of the righteous…
Sharon, thank you so much reading and sharing your heart! I pray many will read and receive the wisdom you have given us. I love that the Commandments were also given to us to protect us. God’s heart for me overwhelms me at times. Love you sweet friend!
Wow Cherie! Great idea with the 10 Commandments! Love this post! Sometimes I feel like I’m the only one in my house who seeks God! The TV is Satan. So many things we let slide.
I agree with you, sweet friend! The TV is being used by satan. It’s got to be one of his easiest tools to get his agenda into our homes. There are good things on it as well but you have to discern for your family at what cost is it to your family..
I think keeping the law of God and his commandments means to be able to hear Jesus speak to your heart and let his light lead you – more then the formal religious stuff
Amen!! We do as well, Eugene. Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. We appreciate it. 🙂
