When it comes to issues with your husband, i.e.. things he has said or done that have hurt you or even stung you, don’t listen to your heart. Your heart will betray you and deceive you.. Instead, listen to God and love him even when your heart doesn’t want you too!!

Very good point and so hard to do! I have started reading the Psalms all the way through and today was the first day. I love the Psalms!
It is hard to do this with out the knowledge but much easier with it. I praise God all the time for His words of knowledge to me. I couldn't walk out my marriage each day without them! In fact, I ask God for them all the time. :o)
I love that your reading through Psalms.. I pray 5 Psalms out loud to God each day!! He is blessing me beyond anything I can measure.. I'm on my second time through..
Have a sweet day my friend! :o)
Your devotional on this day was very special to me. I have been contemplating leaving my husband for sometime now. But every time I take it to God he lays on my heart that my husband is a good man, and needs me there. That I have to let go of the situation and let him work on it. I haven't been consistently praying about it and in fact have moved away from relying on God and relying more on myself to solve problems over the past year. It hasn't been a very successful or joyous time. I have been angry, bitter, and sometimes just plain mean.
I know it in my heart, I know God wants me to change, wants me to come back and be closer to him. I want it to. I didn't just decide to do it, it was gradual. Not going to church as often, skipping my bible study, and so on.
I miss him, and need him in my life. Thank you for the reminder.
I love that! One thought that comes to mind when reading this post is from Fireproof…
"You don't follow your heart. You lead your heart."
God is going to tell you how to lead you. Follow that guidance and you will never be steered wrong. 🙂 Love it!
I SO needed to read this thought. Thank you for sharing it.
Just me!! Hang in there girl!!
Stay in prayer when your washing your dishes, doing laundry, making dinner.. God hears us no matter where we are…
He has given you a measure of grace for the situation your in.. His grace never runs out for you.
Your not alone!! :o)
Amanda, I'm so excited God is ministering to you through this, this morning.. :o)
Lyndsay! Fireproof is one of my favorite movies. So many gems in it for our marriages. We will be giving this away soon. :o)
That is awesome advice. I've learned that in the past year or so. I'm not perfect about not listening to my heart but I am getting so much better. The Lord has been trying to make me more aware of the feelings my husband doesn't share and stress he endures and cannot share. The Lord has been working on my heart and changing me. I do see my marriage getting better where 2 yrs ago, I wasn't sure where it was going to go.
