Moving. It is hard. Uprooting, packing, leaving behind friends and family. Keith and I are a military family and, by default, so are our kids. We have come to the season where it is time for a permanent change of station (PCS). We have to move from where we are planted. This move takes us 3000 miles from the east coast to the west coast (New Jersey to Washington State). Not too overwhelming unless you know that we did a similar move only 9 short months ago (that time, from California to New Jersey). Such is the life of a…

We must always be on guard for this world belongs to the Deceiver. We are cautioned by Paul to not be deceived in Colossians 2. And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Easter is upon us. The glorious day that we celebrate that LIFE has overcome death. Of course, the best thing about the truth of Easter is that we get to celebrate new life in Christ everyday. Is this where your hope is today? In Christ? When my husband, Keith, first came into the U.S. Navy Chaplain Corps, we were given Pearl Harbor, HI for our first duty station. Yes, we got to live in that beautiful place for two years! On one of our first Sundays in Hawaii, I met a Senior Chaplain’s wife who gave me some wise counsel…

Surrender to the Holy Spirit brings a life full of hope. Once we understand this type of surrender, we can walk more deeply by faith. How do we keep that hope from fading? I mean, for the long haul, day in and day out? God’s Word is the place that fortifies our hope! Take a look at just a portion of Psalm 119: 114 You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word. 115 Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God. 116 Uphold me according to your promise,…
