“Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with the whole heart! They also do no iniquity; they walk in His ways. You have commanded us to keep Your precepts diligently. Oh, that my ways were directed To keep Your statutes! Then I would not be ashamed, When I look into all Your commandments. I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments. I will keep Your statutes; oh, do not forsake me utterly!” Psalms 119: 1-8

We are continually pushed by the world to follow after its ways and walk in its unholiness. Things are happening all around us. The blood of the Christ is asking us to stand up.  At the same time we are reminded that this world is not our home.

Have you looked around lately? The sin of this world is so wicked. It preaches a sermon that is aimed to tempt the Christian into running after it’s unholy riches. It sings a song that is pleasing to the ear, but death to the soul. If we are not careful, we will find ourselves compromising our beliefs and our marriages.

God has commanded us in vs 4 to Keep His precepts diligently.  If we do, we will not be ashamed as we continually meditate on His commands. Exodus 20 ~

ONE:You shall have no other gods before Me.

TWO:You shall not make for yourself a carved image–any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

THREE:You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.

FOUR:Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.

FIVE:Honor your father and your mother.

SIX:You shall not murder.

SEVEN:You shall not commit adultery.

EIGHT:You shall not steal.

NINE:You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

TEN:You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.

I always find reading the 10 Commandments to be convicting.

As you read each one, did anything leap at you?

Have you compromised in an area you didn’t even realize you had?

Romans 12:2 tells us, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

Things are getting by us each day. Little things that we think don’t really matter. But they do. These “little” compromises in time turn into big ones and we one day find ourselves sharing the same message as the world!

Wives,  I want to encourage you to put the 10 Commandments on a wall of your home. Someplace you and your family can see them daily. Write them on your hearts so the Holy Spirit can continue to renew your mind with with one. Then we will not be ashamed, when we look into all of God’s commandments.

The things of this world may be shiny, but shine loses its luster in time.

Instead, consider 1 Peter 1:7, “that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Lord, let our hearts sing no other name but Jesus!

How do you feel this? Leave me your comments!
