This week I started reading a book called “The Power of a Positive Women” by Karol Ladd with a Christian women’s book club. While reading, the Lord pricked my heart for the Imperfect Wives.
Many of us struggle with our self-image.
Maybe we struggle for different reasons.
Perhaps we have a poor self-image that we brought into our marriages.
Or we struggle with our self-image as we battle strongholds of satan and sin that so easily entangles us.
Take hope.
Read that quote again:
You wear a designer label embossed with God’s own fingerprint!
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us,
We are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
We are God’s own workmanship.
The Father God, Creator, made you, His creation.
He gave you purpose.
He gave you good works to do, which He prepared in advance.
Ladies, He created you to be the wife that would complement your husband!
All God has created you to be is who you are in Christ.
You are able to walk in His purpose because of Christ in You.
A trick of satan is to use our society to convince women that our worth as wives, mothers, daughters and sisters is found in anything but Christ.
We are too fat, too thin.
Too tall, too short.
We must work outside the home. We must not work outside the home.
We must fit a certain mold.
And the list goes on.
Stop.
Tear up the checklist society gives you.
Remember your identity.
You are God’s precious creation.
His work of art.
Designed for good works.
For your marriage.
Identifying with you,
Kim
