Have you ever had an identity crisis?

I’m not referring to the psychological term specifically, but just the idea that you’ve forgotten who you are.

Here’s what the Lord says about you in 1 Peter 2:9-10:

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

God chose you.

He calls you royal and holy, part of a group called to serve Him.

You belong to God.

This isn’t just for when you are with the body of Christ in a local church setting, but for you when you are in your home.

In your home, with your husband…you are chosen by God, royal and holy, designed to praise God.

The part of this that really speaks to me is the last few words:  “…now you have received mercy.”

I think about that and I’m filled with gratitude.

How I need God’s mercy in my life. And I need to share it with my husband.

Today, share the mercy that you have received from God with your husband. When you do, you’ll be walking out who you are in Christ.

And…you’ll see miraculous things happen in your relationship as you do what you were chosen to do!
