HIS LOVE IN USAnd now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity. (1 Corinthians 13:13)

I can’t tell you how much I love my husband. I never knew I could love someone so long or so much. We’ve only been married for 8 years in December, but life has brought us some hard struggles.

He’s seen my best and my worst. We’ve been at the top of the mountain and down in the valley in our marriage. One thing I can say that hasn’t failed is my husband’s love for me.

I’m so thankful that he’s chosen to love me when I was unlovable and that his love has grown stronger for me. It’s only because of the Father that he has been able to love me. There have been many times that I have been rude, disrespectful, or mean to him in our marriage, yet he loved me. He’s been the same way to me at times and I chose to love him. It’s not our own selves that hold us together, but it’s the love of the Father. If not for His love in us, we couldn’t love one another as we do.

The Father’s love can help us do things we never thought we could do. His love can envelope us and help us to love when it seems near impossible. I’m so thankful that God has given us an example on how to love through Jesus Christ His Son. We couldn’t love if God hadn’t loved us first it says in I John 4:19. We should be ever so thankful for God’s love. We should also be thankful for love in our marriages. It’s what will show the example of Jesus to your children and to others around you.

So don’t let the day go by without thanking God for love and for your marriage. It’s such a privilege to join in marriage and love as God has loved us.
Lord, thank You for Your love and that it’s perfect. Thank You for loving us when we aren’t lovable. Thank You for our husbands and their love. Help us to love them as You desire. May we be a shining example of You to others by the way we love one another in our marriages. Help us to never forget to be thankful for love.

In Jesus’ name, Amen
